These are my Michelin Road 5's (on CTX700) after about 3 months with tighter turns and no peg dragging. (Was dragging pegs on the stock tires with almost an inch outside the wear line.)
Welcome!
This CTX700 is my first bike, and the best commuter I've ever enjoyed.
I'm using the stock tall windshield with the fairing model. At 5'5" it keeps me dry above the feet/ankles over about 35MPH. I've heard others say the C.E. Bailey shields were better, but they stopped selling them...
Agreed, just about any grip for this size bar would fit fine, but most would still be too thin to be fully comfortable. Since I'm putting grip puppies on whatever, I figure they'll work about as well on stock as they will covering up something else I paid for.
I had a full face helmet and go through an ID gate every work day. Most guards know my bike, habits, and voice well enough, some insist on seeing my face, and every now and then somebody complains the video shows guards not checking correctly so they all make me show face for a few weeks. A 3/4...
I don't always seem to head in the same direction as everyone, but I do get there, and sometimes in a better fashion.

I would never think about using any horn that has only one volume louder than stock. The...
I still see some of the folks on there who refuse to learn or allow others to help learn, but the tone is better since we've decided not to poke the bears. IMHO, the "R" guy was more helpful and often correct if the loud self proclaimed experts would have listened at face value.
It's a shame...
I was surprised that I push-started the CTX700 (manual) on the first try with no problems about two months after I got it new (2014 model in 2016) and the battery was too low. Part of my surprise was because I was a new rider at 53 yrs old and really didn't want to push and jump onto a 500 lb...
You remind me of a blind man my father knew in the 50's or 60's who took the wheel after hours when the street was empty with his friend calling out directions from the passenger seat. The constable didn't see value in ticketing the blind guy with no license and didn't want to explain ticketing...
"For this project ... not our goal to develop a self driving motorcycle."
So it starts it's engine, takes off without a rider, negotiates turns, and stops on it's own - but they are only learning about the dynamics so they can create technologies to assist inattentive riders, not take over for...
My sympathy you have, though not of much worth. Mine's manual and everyone I talk to seems to think the DCT is bulletproof, except needing a certain type of restart if turned off while in gear or something like that.
Anyway, some guys at https://www.ctx700forum.com/ have hundreds of K on their...
Sadly, I agree.
But electrics are becoming so prolific even at prices higher than the energy savings that most companies are joining the band-wagon. The first models to suffer won't be the 70+ MPH CTX700 or the luxury couch on two wheels, it will be those gorgeous fun-loving midpower cruisers...
How can we tell them to get rid of that shaft? I sat on a legacy Fury and loved it, told the dealer that shaft is a deal-breaker for me. I can't stand knowing the engine produces somewhere near 80-90% more power and I only get about 30% more of what the Honda site calls "massive torque" - not to...
I've never tried the crisscross thing, hopefully others can help with strapping methods.
The thing I see wrong most on trailers is too much weight on the tongue. Forgive me if you already know your setup, but with a load that light, 100 lbs on the tongue is more than enough. Read the manual...
I just visited Honda's sales site for something unrelated and found the same thing across the line:
Manual or DCT with a chain: They advertise MPG and sometimes power specs. They're proud of efficiency.
Anything with a shaft: they post "MPG: TBD" and don't mention torque or HP power specs. -...
I think tariffs had a lot to do with both that and marketing the 700 in US vs the 750 in every other country. There was a limited number of over 700 cc bikes allowed before tariff jumped from 4% to 34% for a few years, then tapered back to all 4%. They say it was aimed at saving HD and...
