Well the Scarabeo500ie is a twistngo scoot, but a very big one. Very good performer, though I have to say it is definitely an Italian bike. Nice looking and solid performer, but there wasn't a cheap part on it! My CTX is a bit more my style in conjunction with smaller scoots :P.
The 500ie...
I'm a proud owner of several scooters. Never owned a moped. I try not to get offended when people call my scoots 'mopeds'. Dude...see any pedals?
My 150cc tops out @ 60 without gravity, and people lose their minds when I tell them that :P. They change their tune when I mention getting...
I took my MSF course on a traditional bike. Even though everything I currently own is auto, I wouldn't be afraid to brush up and do a manual if I really wanted it.
I'll post these in both forums:
SO I have the fairing DCT version. I know I want a rear carrier, and probably the saddlebags too.
My question is this:
do I have to have the other support brackets, or are they part of the fairing model? Even the dealer was vague, and I'm not sure I want to...
So, my seat really doesn't want to come off. I turn the key, and I don't think it's catching.
Short term, this isn't really a big deal. Long term...I kinda wanna tend my battery since it's -5 out and I probably can't ride for at least another week.
I'll alert the dealership when I go back...
Given the look of the bike all those colors would rock. I would have preferred black, but I got a discount on the Red sitting there.
Kawasaki green would be a good choice. Anything but a horrid orange or yellow on this bike really.
Usually the speed limit, maybe a LITTLE over for fun here and there.
Once it's broken in I might find a nice open stretch of road to see what the true capabilities are, but I'm usually most comfy at 80 tops.
I own several jackets.
My Icon chapter leather jacket, with d30 armor. It protected me very well in a good crash, and still looks fine.
Corazzo Postale. I'm a little stocky for this one but it's a nice jacket for mid-seasons
GoGoGear armored hoodie: The black faded fast but an armored...
So, I absolutely want a rear carrier, and then will put a Besteem case on it. We have the ctx700d (so faired version w/DCT)
My question is this:
If all I want is the carrier, do I still need a backrest and inner support? The instructions are vague and seem to lead me that way. Really I just...
Used can be a great way to go if you get a good deal. Hondas tend to be around a long time so either way works pretty well. I tend to keep a vehicle for a really long time, so new isn't a bad gig. If you lose interest or think you'll upgrade quickly, used is even better.
The 2 accidents I had, 1 minor, one major, were drastically different.
Minor: failure to look through and follow the turn, then sudden braking. oops!
Major: Failure to pay attention to the weather. Rode in high winds, got blown off by a severe wind gust. Gear and grace kept me from being...
It was said in a sarcastic tone.
I went 110 (down a graded road and tucked) on my Aprillia 500, and that was plenty respectable! Mine's not broken in yet and there's no place I could test it without a big fear of a ticket, so I'll leave it to the pros :P
for me it was a combo of Honda reliability, good mpg, nice style, and ease of use. Very practical vehicle, yet fun to ride. I don't need to get to 90mph in 4 seconds, and I like getting 70mpg.
