A gentlemen named Stu Oltman has been a Honda Goldwing technical advisor on the WingWorld mag for many years. He was asked to write a tutorial for Yuasa on batteries and how they work on motorcycle. Here's the WEB page the tutorial is on. It is a very interesting and very educational if you want to understand how it all works.

I'm going to chant now

I feel better already, glad it wasn't terminal
I am grounded in my approach to this whole battery thing

So I was thinking of getting a Lithium Battery. What do you guys think? For $125 seems like a good deal, with a Long shelf life, up to 1 year before requiring recharging (so I will not need to do anything over the winter), and a 2 year manufacturer's warranty. Or I could get a sealed lead-acid (SLA) absorbed glass mat (AGM) rechargeable battery for like $35. Last year I got a AGM from the dealership and it was like $100. It may still be good but I never got around to hooking up the charger to it, so I would have to check it out. Seems every year I just buy a new battery to be sure I am good to go til winter and then forgot to put it on the charger..lol.
Here is the ebay link to the Lithium battery...........

That was kinda negative. You should strive to be more positive in the future!:D

Lithium batteries have their idiosyncrasies compared to lead acid. They would alter your forgetting to put a charger on too remembering to remove the negative cable to the battery taking advantage to the 1 year shelf life... that is if you don't buy a new Lithium charger. Constant accessory draw will kill the lithium battery... and cold weather is not their strong points. Check this Youtube out from Motorcyclist on Lithium batteries.

Not sure if there is enough constant draw on our bikes (clock) to be a factor with lithium batteries but I just don't like them.
An AGM on a maintainer (Battery Tender) is my choice and should get you 3 yrs, life easy and probably 5.

Thanks for the info and link. Guess I will just stay with the AGM battery I have. I got it last year when I got the bike so it may still be good.
I may not be riding at all this year anyway.

I am also very happy with my AGM batteries. They make the old acid ones obsolete as far as I'm concerned, at least for motorcycles.
