I know this is an old thread, but the question remained unanswered. DCT or Dual Clutch Transmission now in Version 2, was developed by Honda, specifically for the future outlook of automatic motorcycles. Two clutches mesh seamlessly to provide 1 - 6 gears. One clutch controls Gears 1,. 3 and 5...
Generally the supplied tool kit, if it is supplied is lacking. So make your own or buy one which is readily available.
What they generally should contain is the following:
1. Spark plug socket that works on the CTX spark plugs. I've never used it.
2. Ratcheting screw driver, preferably with an...
Get yourself a good motorcycle minikit. Sears, Walmart, and numerous online. The Blue plastic pouch contained the Following. 1. Fuse puller, 2 Screw driver with switchable head for star and straight, a Spark plug socket wench (remover), and 3 open wrenches. The helmet D ring was in the pocket...

Leather is way too hot here in Arizona. I use the ballistic nylon types that have a removable liner. Cooler in the summer, and can be more protective in the winter. There are some ventilated leather as in the Joe Rockets, and may be better for a colder climate, with humid summers.
I like modular, have two. I prefer the Nolan over the Shoei because of fit. Nolan's medium is more comfortable, but Shoei's has better ventilation. So it's 50/50.
Even in Arizona's crazy heat, 113 in the summer on up, I wear a jacket and gloves. If anything it will protect me from getting fried on the pavement, if not a skid. Also gloves keep hands from burning on the bars, and hot pavement. As uncomfortable as it is, and it is very, I still wear them...
Black smoke is burning oil. Somewhere oil is getting into the mixture. Hard cranking is usually fuel air mixture. So I would agree check the filter and filter flow intake as well. Also the stack.
All helmets, as long as they have a legitimate DOT sticker are good and meet safety standards. The prices go up with the bells and whistles. Schubert and Nolan are considered top line. along with Shoei and Arai. But all are good, as long as the fit is comfortable and appropriate. Some have...
Continuing with the CTX concept and automatics, Honda is bringing the NM4 (in Europe known as the Voltus), to the US in June. Built on the same frame as the CTX but with a rear extension, the base of the bike is longer than the CTX700. The engine, brakes, and power are the same as the CTX700D...
Expect to spend a lot more for the new cans. Changing a tail pipe changes the back pressure which means that the bike has to be returned. Being a new bike the mechanics won't have the numbers on the dyno charts so it may be a timely experience with a hit and miss.
Moving the left peg rearward is possible by adding a rearward extension and a new peg. May have to be custom made and possibly welded to the frame. The right peg and brake pedal is possible but will have to be custom, as a new brake cable (longer) will probably be needed. I am assuming that this...
The bike is too new for 3rd party mods yet. One thing that you can do is get a nm4 adjustable brake lever. NM4 is being released in June. The master cylinders being used are identical so no problem and an adjustable brake leaver will bring it closer by up to 1.18 inches. Another mod that has...
My first real bike is and still is a Harley VRSCD Night-rod, 1100cc 120hp, Top speed ? was clocked at 182 mph (some modifications). I ride it but it is a power house.
Have to do the posted limit. In Arizona, the roads are fast, so 35mph is the slowest, and routinely the roads are 50 mph . Highway speeds are 80 mph. If you don't keep up the speed, the cars get rather cranky.
The CTX is too new for pipes yet. Also adding slip-ons will require new tunings and cost a lot more $ than expected. Changing the back pressure of the exhaust with no tail pipes, can be a miserable experience.
